We Make-Believe, For a Living.

Tiger & Dog Productions is a New York City-based film and television production company focused on developing and producing independent, creator-driven projects.

Who we are

Terence Chen

Founder / Producer

Born in New York City, Terence took a circuitous path to film. After working in clinical research, he decided to embrace his creative side and pursue acting and writing full-time. His parents obviously approved of this momentous decision–no wait, that didn’t happen.

Terence takes his work very seriously, but himself incredibly less so. Living in New York, Terence tries to find unique voices and perspectives through wit and a deeply ingrained sense of irreverence. He also finds it very odd to write about himself in the third person.

Sonca Nguyen

Producer / audio engineer

Sonca Nguyen is a versatile audio engineer, producer, and songwriter whose creative work spans music production, vocal engineering, composition, and music supervision. She made her film debut as both composer and music supervisor for the feature Meet Cute in Manhattan, which premiered on Amazon Prime, marking a major milestone in her expanding creative career.

With a growing portfolio that includes collaborations & credits with artists like Smino, Masego, Jordan Ward, and Omari Hardwick, and partnerships with brands such as Duolingo, Adidas, and the Saint Louis Cardinals, Sonca brings a polished, emotionally resonant approach to every project.

Her expertise spans vocal production, toplining, mixing, and original composition, with credits on projects like HBO Max’s The Sex Lives of College Girls and a range of short films, commercials, and branded campaigns.

THEA JACINTO UGARTE

PRODUCER / ARTIST & DESIGNER

Thea Jacinto Ugarte is an Austin-based artist, designer, and mother of two young girls whose work brings warmth, whimsy, and contemporary design into schools, hospitals, and family spaces. A recent favorite project – a playful installation featuring cowboy rubber ducks – was created for the NICU at Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.

Born in Hawaii and raised in Manila, Philippines, Thea discovered her love of fashion early on while interning for celebrated Filipino designer Rajo Laurel. She later studied at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) before beginning her career in New York City as a women’s knitwear designer at Ralph Lauren.

Today, her creative practice is deeply informed by motherhood, storytelling, and everyday beauty. When she’s not painting or gardening, she’s busy chauffeuring her little VIPs between preschool, soccer matches, and ballet classes.
